About Us

Mates Electrical Services was formed in 1973 by two qualified Electrical Engineers and who had both served recognised apprenticeships and worked on contracts in London , the South East and East Sussex .

The Company quickly obtained a reputation for quality workmanship and a personal friendly service.

In 1998 the Company changed its trading title to Mates Electrical Services LLP and is now a Limited Liability Partnership, but the same personal and friendly service still exists.

Over the years the Company has grown strong on it's reputation and now consists of three Senior Engineers and Contract Managers and one Junior Engineer in their Offices with two Admin staff and a large outside complement of J.I.B. Qualified Electricians and Approved Electricians together with Apprentices both Junior and Senior.

All our operatives are directly employed, some of whom have been with the Company for over 30 years.

Our Team provides a complete service from initial inception to completion. We can provide Drawings in Auto CAD format and a Design Service for Lighting including Emergency Lighting and Fire Alarm.

We are members of several Trade Associations including the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (N.I.C.E.I.C.) and the Electrical Contractors Association (E.C.A.). We are members of the Joint Industry Board (J.I.B.) We are fully insured and carry Public Liability cover of £5M.

Our Clients include Kent County Council, Medway Council, Mouchel Parkman, Swale Borough Council, several Housing Associations and numerous Schools, Main Building Contractors, Consultants, Architects and Quantity Surveyors. We also are contractors to H.M. Prison Service and have carried out work in both open and high security prisons.

We are a Seeboard (now EDF Energy) Accredited Contractor and carry NICEIC Accredited Certification. We are also a Registered Approved Domestic Installer under the new Part ‘P' certification scheme.
